South 228th Street Grade Separation

Franklin Pacific was the subcontractor in winter of 2009 for the construction of a new three span 130 foot precast bulb tee deck girder bridge over the BNSF railroad tracks in Kent Washington for the City of Kent. The bridge is part of a $10 million road widening/overpass and utility upgrade project. The bridge work includes 8 foot diameter drilled shaft foundations, 4 foot diameter bent columns, 10 feet by 6 feet by 70 foot long cap beams, 36 precast concrete girders, a 6” concrete deck and 12” end panels, and cast in place bridge rails. The total value of the bridge work (excluding the drilled shafts) is approximately $1.5 million.
