Bridge and Road Work

Pussyfoot Creek Fish Passage

Pussyfoot Creek Fish Passage

Construction consisted of a 170 foot long by 39 foot wide single span bridge founded on drilled shaft. The abutment walls are approximately 26 feet tall. The approaches to the bridge were construction of geosynthetic walls and concrete fascia panel. Franklin Pacific successfully convinced WSDOT to all the fasci panels to be shotcrete rather than cast in place which allowed for a significant schedule reduction. The new bridge construction necessitated the complete removal of the existing roadway and embankment and the site constraints did not allow for a detour bridge to be constructed. As such the project had to be completed in 90 calendar days. Franklin Pacific worked 6 - 10 hour days per week and worked on multiple components of the project concurrently in order to assure this timeframe was met.
