Franklin Pacific was a subcontractor to Tri-State Construction in 2012 for the construction of a pipe crossing bridge within the median of I-90 near Issaquah, WA. The bridge was constructed beneath two exposed 30” live gas lines which required that construction proceed with a great deal of caution at each step of the way. The bridge is founded on a soldier pile wall at each abutment. Once the soldier pile wall and concrete fascia panel was constructed the streambed was restored and the superstructure was built. The superstructure consists of (17) each 30” PCPS slabs and a 5” cast in place deck. Four foot tall parapet walls were constructed, a waterproof membrane was installed, and then the gas lines were buried with 10 feet of soil. The approximate cost of the bridge construction was 400,000.00.
