Bridge and Road Work

Talley Way Interchange

Talley Way Interchange

Franklin Pacific was a subcontractor in 2011 to Northwest Construction for the construction of two bridges and 31,000 sq ft of SEW fascia panel. The bridge and fascia panel work was part of a larger 21 million project in Kelso, Wa for WSDOT. The bridges are founded on spread footings with a tension strut between them to prevent lateral spreading. The abutment walls are approximately 30 feet tall. The superstructure are composed of 40 foot by 130 foot spans with 5 precast girders each. The bridge structures are part of a horizontal curve which created the necessity for a curving deck and an 8% superelevation to be cast into the 8” deck. The fascia panels were originally designed by WSDOT as cast in place. Franklin Pacific worked with Northwest Construction to redesign the fascia panels to employ a precast system across most of the walls with a few cast in place sections as required at tie in locations. The value of the bridge work and fascia panel work was approximately $2.7 million.
