Bridge and Road Work

Mountlake Terrace Freeway Station

Mountlake Terrace Freeway Station

Franklin Pacific was a subcontractor in 2009 and 2010 to MidMountain Contractors for the construction of a 330 foot three span pedestrian bridge over I5 northbound in Mountlake Terrace Washington for WSDOT.  The bridge connects an existing parking garage to a new bus station being constructed in the median of the freeway.  The bridge structure consists of three 8 foot diameter drilled shaft foundations, 4.5 foot diameter bridge columns with circular column capitals which receive the bridge girders.  The superstructure consists of (6) 72 inch bulb-I girders all of which have to be set at night during a closure of I5.  The deck is a 7.5 inch cast in place deck with cast in place guardrails.  Franklin Pacific is also performed a seismic retrofit of an existing bridge included in the project by adding shear lugs and blosters to 5 piers and abutments.  Finally we constructed various retaining walls and traffic barriers.  The value of the bridge work is approximately 1.9 million.
